Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and relationship-driven Architectural & Design (A&D) Specification Representative to build and expand our presence within the design community. This role is responsible for developing strong relationships with architects, interior designers, specifiers, and key decision-makers, with the goal of driving product specifications and increasing brand visibility.

The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of the design process with a proactive sales mindset—serving as both a trusted product resource and a driver of new business. This individual will play a critical role in positioning our products within projects from concept through completion.

 

Key Objectives (What Success Looks Like)

Establish our brand as a recognized and trusted resource within the A&D community

Secure product specifications across commercial and residential projects

Build a consistent pipeline through engagement with architects, designers, and specifiers

Increase adoption and placement of company product catalogs (“Arch Books”) within target firms

Drive measurable sales growth through specification influence

 

Core Responsibilities

1. Relationship Development & Market Presence

Build and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, specifiers, and design firms

Develop a consistent presence within the A&D community through firm visits, industry events, and associations

Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions

Position the company as a go-to resource for LVT/LVP flooring solutions

2. Specification & Sales Development

Influence and secure product specifications during the design phase of projects

Track and manage specifications through the full project lifecycle to conversion

Collaborate with internal sales and distribution teams to ensure successful execution

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory

3. Product Education & Presentations

Conduct Lunch & Learns, presentations, and product demonstrations for A&D firms

Educate clients on product applications, performance characteristics, and design benefits

Serve as a technical and design resource throughout the specification process

Provide tailored recommendations aligned with project requirements

4. Sampling & Follow-Up Strategy

Leverage platforms such as Material Bank to identify engagement opportunities

Proactively follow up on sample requests with relevant insights and next steps

Guide clients from product sampling through specification and final selection

5. Territory & Activity Management

Manage a defined territory with a high level of autonomy

Maintain a consistent schedule of in-person meetings, site visits, and events

Track pipeline, activity, and performance through CRM systems

Develop and execute a strategic plan to penetrate and grow key accounts
